Maine Nissan dealer introduces Nissan’s newest concept, the Invitation

Berlin City Nissan, one of the leading Portland Maine Nissan Dealers, always likes to keep abreast of the latest news form Nissan, with that being said, we would like to introduce you to the Nissan Invitation concept car.

Although Nissan already has a subcompact, fuel-efficient hatchback in the U.S. market in the form of the 2012 Nissan Versa hatchback, the Japanese automaker has just released details on an inviting new subcompact concept car it plans to unveil at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show.

Called the Nissan Invitation, the five-seat hatchback is most likely to be a little smaller than the 2012 Versa, although Nissan hasn't yet published any official dimensions.

What it has said, however, is that the subcompact will eligible to wear Nissan's Pure Drive badge -- a sign that its engine will most likely be a three- or four-cylinder, turbocharged, small capacity unit capable of 40 mpg or better.

Styling-wise, the Invitation looks sporty, with an aggressive front grille, sweeping headlights and integrated rear spoiler.

Designed to look appealing to the younger ME Nissan buyer, Nissan promises that the Invitations looks aren't just for show, either. It will, the automaker says, be among the top performing cars in its segment.

For the record, that's a segment already dominated by sporty, high gas mileage cars like the 2012 Chevrolet Sonic, 2012 Hyundai Accent, 2012 Ford Fiesta and 2012 Toyota Yaris.

Since this car is still in it's concept stages, we don't know if it will be designed for the U.S. markets or not.  But, stay in touch with your local Maine Nissan dealership for updates.
