The next time, you're overnighting in Nashville and staying at the Embassy Suites Nashville South, you might just have the opportunity to ride in a longer, more luxurious version of the Nissan LEAF. That's right, the eco-conscious hotel has recently commissioned LimoLand (located in neighboring state, Missouri) to create a stretch LEAF.
Given the traditional LEAF EV's compact size; it might seem like an unlikely candidate for such a project. But, trust us, with warm-toned cedar paneling; buttery, white leather and mirrors throughout; the inside of the stretch LEAF EV speaks as much to opulence as it does zero-emissions commuting. And that's exactly what the Suite's wanted to show VIP visitors: that the company is on the cutting-edge of where eco-friendly and plush, luxe comfort unite.
Outside, the Nissan LEAF limo by LimoLand retains the understated look of its compact counterpart, which serves to emphasize its exaggerated length. The added weight, which LimoLand has hidden well, is more significant. Four-hundred pounds to be exact.
Even with the addition of a near half-ton; however, LimoLand continues to use the compact Nissan LEAF EV's battery. That's right; the same 24 kWh battery featured in the new Nissan LEAF currently available at Berlin City Nissan of Portland serving Portland and Saco, Maine will be solely responsible for running the LEAF limo. The difference is that instead of being fitted in front, as it is in the compact model, the limo's electric battery will be situated in the rear.
What about range and cost?
Great questions. Unfortunately, such details have not yet been divulged. Official announcements are, however, expected soon. So, if you're interested, be sure to stay tuned.
